Thank you to our Veterans!

Veterans Day affords us a special day to thank those who have served and are serving as well as to learn more about their sacrifices. Please spend some time today reading about the valiant sacrifices these men and women have made. We have collected a few articles that commemorate the service of our brave.

The ranks of our WWII Veterans are rapidly dwindling. The Doolittle Raiders who participated in a bombing raid on Japan after Pearl Harbor toasted for their final time during a reunion this past Saturday. Of the original 80 members of the unit, only four survive today. Take some time to read about these men and their service over at Fox News.

This Veterans Day marks the 20th anniversary celebration of the Vietnam War Women's Memorial. Women alongside men have also made sacrifices to protect us. Read about Diane Carlson Evans who served as a nurse in the Vietnam War and other female veterans at USA Today.

Honoring and remembering the ultimate sacrifice that some of our brave make to protect our freedom is so important. Please read the moving story of Charles Anthony Mangan who served in the Air Force during WWII and perished during a bombing run near the end of the war. His family only knew that he was killed in action for nearly 70 years. This Veterans Day marks the first that they know his story. You may read about Charles and his family's journey in the Missoulian.

These stories and so many more are vital for honoring the sacrifices made. We thank them for their selfless service and for being strong for all of us. Today, spend some time to thank our Veterans for their strength and dedication to protecting our nation. We invite you to share any Veterans Day stories to commemorate this day.
